Last weekend (7th-9th June) Stroud Brewery celebrated a milestone of a birthday (18 years. Finally reached their legal drinking age) with a three day festival over three levels in their mighty canal side venue.
iIngeniously titled the Malty Story Festival the packed programme featured a hoard of local bands and DJ’s including Albino Tarantino, Thee Ones, The Achievers, Valley Steppas, Fidel Cutstro, Crooked Stylus, Threebagsfull, Neon Pumps, Robbie Duncan, Stroud Global Beats, Cosmic Meow to name just a few alongside headliners Nicky Blackmarket, Bristol Hi-Fi’s Queen Bee and Thrill Collins.
Thousands of people from across the Stroud District and beyond descended upon the brewery to join in the celebrations of a Stroud institution including our photographer Dom Thompson for a GOP (not the American one) photojournal.
Hopefully the Malty Story Festival will be back in 2025 and become a mainstay in Stroud’s continually impressive and evolving Festival calendar. Happy Birthday Stroud Brewery. Long May You Brew.
