Unfortunately Good On Paper magazine is currently on a hiatus/break/leave…(read statement here for further info)
However.
We can try and provide much needed culture in other ways!
Good On Paper TV – self recorded sessions by local musicians, artists, writers, poets, filmmakers and performers whether it be a concert in their rehearsal space/studio, an impromptu stand-up comedy/poetry show, DJ sets, a reading of their own published tome or previous footage and films rarely seen, hard to find or not shown before…
We start of with the short music documentary Jab Jab by Amanda Whittington - recently screened at the last Good On Paper Party.
JAB JAB
Jab Jab the acclaimed 1970s rock reggae band are back! After over 30 years their music was found and digitised and at last can be heard once more. Fusing rock, reggae, ska, calypso, funk, soca and Afro beats, their music is as original today as it was back then.
JAB JAB played far and wide to audiences large and small. With their high energy fusion of rock reggae, calypso and afro beat, they staged a show where few could resist the urge to dance. They played alongside household names such as The Clash, The Jam, The Boomtown Rats, Heatwave, Siouxie and the Banshees, Steel Pulse, Toya Wilcox, Misty in Roots, Tom Petty, Dire Straights, Chic...
Playing every type of venue with more than 200 gigs per year including working mens clubs of the coal fields to the Hammersmith Odeon (now the Apollo) with extensive tours of the UK and Europe, JAB JAB unleashed their energising rhythms on all who dared come close...
Each week films will be premiered at 8pm on our YouTube channel here in which you can watch along, comment as you watch with others in the comfort of your own home…Once the premiere is over they will be uploaded to this page to create a huge archive of films you can easily access.
