Leveret is a unique collaboration between three of England’s finest folk musicians. Andy Cutting, Sam Sweeney and Rob Harbron are each regarded as exceptional performers and masters of their instruments. Together their performances combine consummate musicianship, compelling delivery and captivating spontaneity. Leveret return to Stroud for the first time since their sell out Sub Rooms gig in 2015. Phonsonic hosts an intimate and eclectic live music evening with guests. Bell Lungs is a talented singer and multi-instrumentalist mixing ambient, dream pop, folk and drone music. Sun 6th Mik Artistik’s Ego Trip Mik Artistik is a poet, performer, artist and comedian. With his compadre Jonny Flockton on guitars and a selection of well-heeled bass players, they travel from city to city, frightening and delighting adults and children with their special brand of joyous madness. Mik played a staggering 13 gigs at this year’s Glastonbury Festival, and the Beeb made a rather fab film about him. Look him up on Youtube. Thurs 10th The Strays The Strays are pushing rock ‘n’ roll to its limit, fusing a multitude of genres to create a unique vintage sound with a gritty, modern edge. Signed to Western Star Records and described as No Doubt meets Imelda May, front woman Stella Sonic leads this slick, nomadic 4 piece as they blaze their way across the country. Sat 5th Lekan Babalola’s Sacred Funk Quintet ft. Kate Luxmoore
Kate Luxmoore has been interpreting what she terms the “English Songbook” through a fusion of jazz, urban grooves and African rhythms, marrying together the harmonies and melodies of English folk with the rolling, poly-rhythms of Yoruba grooves to create an upbeat, jazz infused set that also includes original compositions. Here, she is joined by twice Grammy award winning Nigerian percussionist, Lekan Babalola and by professional storyteller Pyn Stockman, who draws freely on tales from the oral tradition – folktales, wonder tales, epics and myths and gives them a contemporary twist.
